Cady & Gretchen Domestic Shorthair Female in Brooklyn, New York

My story
Cady Heron and Gretchen Wieners, named after the notorious Mean Girls characters, are anything but mean. These two gal pals are the silliest, most rambunctious cuties out there. They’re brave and energetic, always looking to explore their surroundings and viewing everything (yes, everything) as a new toy. They give out lots of adorable chirps and meows and are constantly purring. They take playtime very seriously, but once they’re exhausted they love curling up in a sunny spot or your lap.

Gretchen is super soft and extra rolly-polly. She doesn’t mind settling down for a nap in the middle of the floor and doesn’t appear to be afraid of much - we’re not sure if that means she’s brave, or maybe a bit ditzy. She has the chubbiest belly and rumbliest purr and she’s a champion biscuit-maker. She’s often off in her own little world exploring her surroundings, but she’s always accepting of pets. She has taken to napping on her foster’s desk while she works and likes to have one paw on the keyboard at all times.

Cady (white dot on her nose) is only the slightest bit savvier than her sister and may take a little more coaxing (read: treats) to earn her affection. She’s very food motivated and she loves giving kisses/licks (maybe she loves you, maybe she thinks you’re food). Once you’ve earned her affection, she will happily crawl into your lap for pets and treat your body like a jungle gym. She likes being held and loves to nuzzle your face with her own (careful, she tries to fit her whole face into your nostril). Cady often can’t decide if she’d rather sleep in her cat bed or on the floor, so she usually ends up half in, half out.

These gals are easy to please and would make for fun pets for either first-time owners or kitty vets. When you take them home, they’ll pretend to be afraid of you, but will instantly forget their scheme as soon as you open a can of food or wiggle a toy in front of them. Once you’ve earned their trust, they’ll come running to you as soon as you open the front door. Cady and Gretchen are excellent eaters with huge appetites, which makes befriending them all too easy. They LOVE pets and scritches, especially around their faces and ears. And they are superstar soccer players, batting around their favorite crinkly balls. They are quintessential kittens and are sure to make their adoptive family laugh and squeal at their silly antics and adorable personalities.

Cady and Gretchen are well-meaning, but very energetic and are still learning not to nip. They would likely react well to kids, dogs, and fellow cats, but you’d want to make sure that any resident humans and pets would tolerate these gals’ energy.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cady & Gretchen, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
