Calm easygoing pitbull Duke and BFF in danger@Brooklyn kill shelter for sale in Brooklyn, New York

Surrendered for being "too active", Stanley's former owner tells us that he gets excited and playful when he sees other dogs, and while he loves to play with children can sometimes play too hard. I fell in love with Stanley when we met...he was thrilled to be going out showing off great leash manners as we walked to the park, and going potty as soon as we were out the door. His coat is a gorgeous gray with bronze/gold highlights, and as we walked he kept checking up with me to make sure we were OK. We are more than OK Stanley, we're great! Stanley posed for some pictures, making soft eye contact, took treats super gently after showing me his perfect 'sit', and was gentle and easy. Stanley may need more exercise than he was getting as he's a young dog who likes people and other dogs and wants to interact. If you're an active person who enjoys long walks, play time followed up with some cuddles, Stanley is the dog you'll want by your side. Ask to meet him today
A volunteer updates:
I met Stanley when he first joined us and fell in love then, and I'm here to tell you that I'm still in love. This gorgeous, gorgeous dog (yes, worth saying it twice), is a feast for the eyes, and the perfect way to end my day at the shelter. He's happy, playful, affectionate, smart and fun. Off leash in a pen he finds a tennis ball, and then another one, and then another one, and Stanley is in tennis ball heaven. Gathering them around him, he brings one over to me for a throw, drops it at my feet, and then backs up a step or two waiting for the throw. Keeping his eye on the ball, his face sparkles, his tail wags... and he's off to retrieve. I think he could do this all day, with an occasional break for a hug. I adore Stanley who is looking for an active home in which plenty of play time and exercise is on the daily agenda. Bring a ball, or we'll supply one (or two or three) and come meet Stanley. Trust me, there is no way you are leaving without him!
